AARP article is a new look at senior cohousing and its popularity with the 50+ crowd: ". . . senior cohousing (often 50-plus) is the new kid on the block. Silver Sage Village, a senior cohousing project in Boulder, CO includes 16 private units combined with 3,900 SF of common facilities. Six of the units are deed restricted to be affordable.
The cohousing is located within an existing neighborhood that includes services within walking distance. Sustainability and cost savings are realized through super insulation, daylighting, efficient windows, sustainably harvested lumber, low-flow plumbing, resulting in lower energy bills and resource conservation. From a social perspective Silver Sage enables seniors to age independently while surrounded by companionship in a safe and supportive living environment.
