Extensive rehabilitation and the addition of a new second story, converted an existing industrial masonry structure into a 12-unit cohousing community with shared facilities that include a lounge with fireplace, kitchen, dining area, workshop, children's playroom and laundry facilities.

Our challenge was to create gracious loft style residences within the constraints of a very tight urban site.

The corrugated metal roof and siding reflect the industrial character of the neighborhood, while the trellis and detailing temper the building to a more human scale.
