Temescal Cohousing Community
Oakland, California
A cohousing community located on a 0.4 acre urban infill site with 9 units and a common house.
Worked with resident group to develop two urban lots into a community including two flats in an existing building, four new homes, and 880 SF of common facilities.
The community incorporates passive and active solar features including a photovoltaic solar roof panel system that is both master and net metered.
Model for innovative urban housing that incorporates the ideals of environmental sustainability, affordability, and social justice, including a group-subsidized low cost unit for qualified tenants.
