La Querencia is a 28-home cohousing community on 2.8 acres with a 4023 s.f. common house, pool, exercise room, teen hangout, workshop, and gardens. It is designed with active/passive cooling/heating techniques to dramatically reduce monthly utility bills. Super insulation, radiant barriers, and highly energy efficient windows keep homes cool in summer and warm in winter. Energy Star appliances, low-water-use fixtures, ample natural light and it was constructed with low-toxicity building materials.
